The Baroque is a period of Western history that emerged between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and that transcends in the fields of literature - metaphor and allegory -, sculpture - realism -, painting, dance, music and architecture; as a reflection of the prevailing changes in the social structure and the Western way of life; Due to the cultural movements involved there was a new science and a new religion dissident within Catholicism itself, in this way European society is divided, on the one hand Catholicism and on the other the Protestant reform (those who distance themselves from the authority of Rome). In this context, the countries that continued with a Catholicist ideology remained under an almost feudal system where the aristocrats and the peasantry are the dominant forces; situation that in the countries that followed a reformist line is altered by the substitution of the aristocracy by a mercantilist bourgeoisie.
