the ground pulls together the drawing/painting without a surface the buyer of person viewing it will get lost in your artwork, also when drawing the ground you should have a plain surface like we used to draw when we were 5. you should add dimension in your drawing by adding mountains, water, etc in the background so it’s more intriguing.
