Many Russians were unhappy with Tsar Nicholas II because he seemed to have very little regard for the common people of Russia. Others were upset because of his poor handling of Russia's role in World War I.
For starters, the nobles had a lot of power and the common people who were the majority had almost no power at all. He would export produce made by the people and leave almost no food back in the country which would lead to massive famines from time to time among the common people. He also fought in World War 1 in a very poor manner and the people disliked this and protested all the time and didn't want to participate, which is why the Russians left the war before it ended when the Communists took over.
