Hello!

If I'm understanding correctly, this is the equation.

(x + 10)³ = 8

So the first step I would take is to cancel out the ^3. To do that, I would cube root everything, as a cube root is essentially ^1/3, and that cancels out with ^3.

So, [tex] \sqrt[3]{(x+10)³} [/tex] = ∛8, is what you end up getting. Now, as I've already said, that cancels out the ^3, and on the left side, you're just left with x + 10.

So, x + 10 = ∛8. The cube root of 8 is 2. So it becomes x + 10 = 2.

Now, just subtract 10 from both sides, and you get x = -8.

If you want to check:

(-8 + 10) ^ 3 = 8

(2) ^ 3 = 8

8 = 8
