The correct answers are Carl Rogers; ideal self

Answer 1: Carl Rogers was an American psychologist known as the father of humanistic psychology. According to Rogers, in order for individuals to thrive or "grow", they require unconditional positive regard from others, and an empathetic environment where they can be genuine. Rogers introduced the client-centered approach to psychotherapy which is widely popular, even today.

Answer 2: Rogers defines ideal self  as someone an individual strives to be. Rogers claims that most of us have an idealized version of ourselves that we envision. This ideal self is influenced by own values, role models we look up to and the real or perceived expectations of the society we live in. In this instance where Joan wishes
she were more flexible and spontaneous, these traits are part of her ideal self- whom she aspires to be.
