The balance on a credit card is the amount of charges that the credit card holder owes the bank by the end of each month. In the case of planning to carry a large balance on your credit card, this is to say that the holder will use its credit card with a high frequency or to buy expensive items/services, the card feature that the holder should look for is credit card rewards.
A credit card reward is a system that most of all the credit card companies have to incentive its clients to use more frequently their credit cards. There are different types of reward systems, in general you earn certain amount of points every dollar you spend with you credit card. Sometimes, the system rewards you more if you spend your money in specific areas. Normally the rewards come in cash, points or miles. If you have a cash system, is straight foward, you get some cash back after using you card. If you have a point system, you can redeem your points for products or services. And in the case of a miles system, everytime you use your card you earn air miles that you can use to buy plane tickets.
