if your frog is an immature female, you will find 2 grayish or pinkish ovaries in either side of the abdominal cavity. The testes of the male are in the corresponding positions. Attached to these organs are yellow fat bodies. What is the function of fat bodies?

The fat bodies in a male frog is where its energy is stored.  They would need stored energy for hibernation period. Aside from that, they would need stored energy for mating and metamorphosis cycle.
