I attached a screenshot with the question

Triangle (1):
The given triangle is a right-angled triangle. This means that the Pythagorean theorem can be applied.
This theorem is as follows:
(hypotenuse)² = (side1)² + (side2)²
Now, for the given we have:
side1 = t
side2 = 12
hypotenuse = 13
Substitute in the above formula and solve for t as follows:
(13)² = t² + (12)²
t² = (13)² - (12)²
t² = 25
t = ±√25
either t = 5 ..........> accepted value
or t = -5 ........> rejected as side length cannot be negative

Triangle (2):
The given triangle is a right-angled triangle. This means that the Pythagorean theorem can be applied.
This theorem is as follows:
(hypotenuse)² = (side1)² + (side2)²
Now, for the given we have:
side1 = 6
side2 = 9
hypotenuse = x
Substitute in the above formula and solve for x as follows:
x² = (6)² + (9)²
x² = 117
x = ±√117
either x = 3√13 ........> accepted value
or x = -3√13 ...........> rejected as side length cannot be negative

Hope this helps :)
