The term body fluid refers to the water and also the SOLUTES of your body.
The body fluid is made up majorly of water and different types of solutes. The solutes are classified as large and small. The small solutes are made up of electrolytes and metabolites. The large solutes are made up of proteins, enzymes and serum albumin.

The term body fluid refers to the water in the body and the solute particles.

These are both dissolvable substances in the human body. In this sense, water dissolves the solutes and itself water is the solvent. Solute and solvent combine to form a mixture as body fluid. A body fluid consists of water and dissolved particles as solute which may be electrolytes also termed as ions.
