Higher oxygen content in the air has inhibitory effect on photosynthesis. Photosynthesis need CO2 and water to prepare glucose. If the amount of oxygen is higher in air then plant can,t obtain sufficient CO2 due to their reduce partial pressure in the air and exceesive partial pressure of oxygen.
