When meditation is done properly, brain waves change to include more theta waves.
Theta waves are more active when the thinking mind transitions to the meditative mind. Theta waves represent a deeper state of awareness with stronger intuition. During meditation, those waves are the most abundant in the frontal and middle parts of the brain.

When mediation is done properly, brain waves change to include more theta waves. Theta waves are experienced in the first stage of sleep, which are slower in frequency and greater in amplitude than alpha waves. These waves generate the theta rhythm which is recorded either from inside the brain of from electrodes glued to the scalp.
