Read the excerpt from "The Girl Who Silenced the World for Five Minutes." I'm only a child yet I know if all the money spent on war was spent on ending poverty and finding environmental answers, what a wonderful place this earth would be! The phrase “what a wonderful place this earth would be” creates which kind of tone? doubtful inspiring critical calming

Respuesta :

What a wonderful place this world would be -- certainly isn't doubtful

It is critical only in the sense that the present world is a mess with people questioning the honesty of government, the competency of almost every part of government, and the ever mounting debt. The statement is made hoping that government will stop misusing money and start doing better things with it. She's trying to show where definite improvements can be made. Critical as an answer is just critical.

It might be calming but it is only calming for her. Certainly that is the second best answer. But she's still upset even after offering her solutions.

It is inspiring to hear someone offer good things to do with government money that helps the planet and those living in it, especially a young person who is also a future taxpayer.
