In the past, the media has not accurately represented people of color. Since employment was much more difficult for people of color to come by, due to racism, the media was dominated by Caucasian employees. Therefore it was an entire chain reaction of said employees skewing the point of view to put any person of color in a bad light, by the reporters themselves, the editors, writers, and production managers. This most certainly did not help the negative view around people of color since the masses would view this inaccurate representation on the news or in the papers.
