The length of a rectangle is 6 cm longer than the width. the perimeter of the rectangle is 92 cm. find the length and the width of the rectangle.

taking that the width is x

width: x cm
length: (x+6)cm
perimeter:
[tex]92 = 2((x + 6) + x)[/tex]
hence,
[tex]4x = 92 - 12 = 80[/tex]
therefore, x=20

hence, since the width is 20cm, the length would be 26cm
