3. Write a brief paragraph describing the New Imperialism. Be sure to describe what it was, when it occurred, and what motivated it.

4. Describe the second industrial revolution and explain how it contributed to imperialism.

Respuesta :

New Imperialism was a time period during the late 19th century and early 20th century in which countries, like the United States, Great Britain, France, and Portugal, competed over territories. This desire to spread their political power and influence was sparked by multiple factors, including the second industrial revolution and the concept of Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is a belief in the "survival of the fittest." In this case, European countries and America thought they were superior to other countries they took over.

The second industrial revolution also helped to spark New Imperialism. This is because the second industrial revolution resulted in the mass creation of goods/services. In order to make more profit, businesses wanted to bring their goods to new markets (aka territories) to sell them.
