This theorem also assumes that the voters will always vote. Event hough the political candidates do not meet their expectation, they will still vote regardless. The median voter theorem will do the best in a majoritarian election system.
This theorem is Anthony Down’s since Down has done research in representative democracy and found out about the median voter theorem. The median voter theorem was also formalized by Duncan Black in Black’s work of majority voting.
