Decarboxylation process
Citric acid cycle (TCA)
Electron Transport chain
Pyruvate undergo decarboxylation process to produce acetyl CoA and
reaction is catalysed by pyruvate decarboxylase. In TCA, acetyl CoA deliver its acetyl group to oxaloacetate which
is a four carbon molecule to form citrate, a six carbon molecules with carboxyl
groups. In electron transport chain, the reduces FAD and NAD coenzymes release
their high high energy electrons and hydrogens to specialized molecules.
