If there are 10 squares total:
Each square has a perimeter of 4.8. The four sides of a square are all equal.
4.8 = Perimeter
4 = Four (equal) sides of the square
4.8 ÷ 4 = 1.2
1.2 = The length of one side
1.2 × 1.2 = 1.44
1.44 = The area of one square
Since there are ten squares, you multiply the area of one square by 10.
1.44 × 10 = 14.4
14.4 units squared = The area of all ten squares (the answer)
