Two main types of beer are lager and ale, and there is
a lot of styles in both of these types. The most popular lager style worldwide is Pilsner, and it was invented in today's Chezh Republic (city Plsen). Also

invented by German monks. Many ale styles were invented in Britain, and some of
them are: IPA (India Pale Ale), English Bitter, Porter, Stout, etc. Some styles
in America were developed from British styles by using domestic ingredients:
American Pale Ale, American Stout, etc. There is also a huge number of famous
ales invented by Belgian monks, such as: Trappist, Strong Belgian Ale and
Belgian Blond.
