A carbon credit is a term used as a tradable certificate which gives right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the mass of another greenhouse gas with a carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2 equivalent) to one tonne of carbon dioxide. If any country reduces carbon emission, then the country which has carried out the investment receives carbon credits at the rate of 1 carbon credit for 1 ton of emission reduction.
