Hello!
For part A you do [tex] \frac{7}{8} * 5[/tex] which is 4 [tex] \frac{3}{8} [/tex]
For part B you do [tex] \frac{7}{8} - \frac{3}{8} [/tex] Which is [tex] \frac{4}{8} [/tex]
