"Bile is produced by the liver and travels through the bile ducts to be stored in the gallbladder."

Based on this information, the gallbladder could be classified as which of the following, and why?

Exocrine gland, because bile is delivered through a duct
Endocrine gland, because the liver is an endocrine gland
Endocrine gland, because bile does not travel through the blood
Exocrine system, because the liver stores the bile

Respuesta :

The gallbladder acts as a storage vessel for bile produced by the liver. Bile is produced by hepatocytes cells in the liver and passes through the bile ducts to the cystic duct. From the cystic duct, bile is pushed into the gallbladder by peristalsis. I therefore believe that the gallbladder could be classified as Exocrine gland, because bile is delivered through a duct.
