Antibiotic drug resistance index is used to measure drug effectiveness over a period of time, it can be used across hospitals, regions, states or nations. The calculation requires minimal parameters that include the maximum level of detail. Two important parameters that are needed for the calculations are: proportion of non susceptible isolates and weighted antibiotic use.
