It’s how low an acid is on the ph balance scale, the strength of an acid depends on how easily the acid gives off hydrogen ions. The scale for acids is 0-6.99 so if the acid is below 5 it’s strong.

If the chemical bond between the hydrogen and the molecule is weak, the acid is strong.

The terms strong ans weak are used to describe how easily acids can ionize. A strong acid ionizes completely in solution while a weak acid only ionizes partially in solution.

Recall that an acid ionizes as follows;

[tex]HA(aq) -------> H^+(aq) + A^-(aq)[/tex]

Hence if the chemical bond between the hydrogen and the molecule is weak, the acid is strong. The weak chemical bond shows that the bond  between the hydrogen and the molecule can be broken easily thereby making the acid to ionize completely.
