You want to produce a scale drawing of your living room, which is 21 ft by 28 ft. If you use a scale of 5 in. = 7 ft, what will be the dimensions of your scale drawing?

First you divide 21 by 7 then 28 by 7

21 ÷ 7 = 3
28 ÷ 7 = 4

Now you will multiply the 3 and 4 by 5

3 × 4 = 12
4 × 5 = 20

So your dimension would be 12 inches by 20 inches on paper or whatever
