When helium gas is added to an equilibrium mixture of the reaction ;
- The direction of the reaction will remain the same ( i.e. no effect on the mixture of the reaction )
Helium gas is an inert gas and therefore when it is added to the equilibrium mixture of the reaction it will have no effect on the mixture, hence the direction of the reaction will remain the same.
Inert gases are gases that do not undergo chemical reaction and do not react with most substances, under certain given conditions. They are also known as noble gases
Examples of Inert gases
- Helium gas
- Argon gas
- Neon gas
- xenon gas etc.
Hence we can conclude that The direction of the reaction will remain the same ( i.e. no effect on the mixture of the reaction ).
