The Roe v. Wade case took place in 1973. The court ruled in favor of Roe, permitting her to proceed with the abortion. The court had come to the conclusion that it is up to the woman “whether or not to terminate her pregnancy”( Roe v. Wade, 1973). In the process of coming to this decision, the Supreme Court had decided that the government cannot be involved with personal matters.
