Ethos- "recommended by Doctor Blahblahsir"
Pathos- "see these suffering dogs? Help donate money today."
Logos- "recent studies have shown that the color red triggers negative emotions in fourth graders"
Claim- a point you are trying to prove to your readers/audience. "Dogs are good in households because they reduce headaches."
Counterclaim- A possible argument against your claim. "But dogs are very messy, why do we want that?"
In a professional atmosphere, logos is the best way of speaking because people want logical research and evidence to prove your point. In a commercial atmosphere, pathos is the best, as you want to reach out to as many people as possible and make them feel a certain way.
Playtex sport compact is effective because it shows a dancer having similar problems as many other people that are being solved by the product. It could be more effective by showing multiple people in the advertisement.
Tide ads are effective because they use things that annoy you, such as dirty dishes and grass stained clothes, and suddenly clean them. They could be more effective by showing everything that they can do, and they persuade me a lot because I like clean things.
I hope that helped!
