Based on reviewing your comments above, I can see that we would want to find the following:

[tex] \frac{x}{4} + \frac{12}{16} \ of \ \frac{x}{4} = \frac{12}{16} [/tex]

I'm supposing that we are trying to solve for [tex]"x"[/tex].

We first do, [tex]4\div16= 4[/tex]. Now, what ever we do the the bottom, we would also do this to the top it's self.

[tex]12\div4=3[/tex]

Therefore, [tex]\boxed{x=3}[/tex]
