Based on historical context, the "wrongs” Washington referred to in the quote above is "the slavery of African Americans by the white plantation owner in the South.
Generally, people believed that slavery of fellow man is wrong regardless of race and color involved.
Booker T Washington, however, though believed that slavery was also wrong but felt the African Americans should do something different to get themselves out of perceived discrimination.
Thus, he concluded that instead of having any ill feeling toward the Southern white man for any wrong that he may have inflicted upon his race, he should channel the energy to earn better status in the American society.
Hence, in this case, it is concluded that Booker T Washington believed that African Americans needed to work upon themselves to earn the respect they deserve.
