Bartimaeus was a blind man cured by Jesus. When he calls out to Jesus for the road to heal him, Jesus tells him his faith has cured him.
One could argue that Jesus wants all people to have faith in him. Also, because Bartimaeus gave up his cloak and followed Jesus, Jesus wants people to give up their worldly possessions to follow him. This mirrors other Gospel stories where Jesus tells his followers to give up everything and follow him.

Answer:
Jesus had healed Bartimaeus, which was a blind man. When Bartimaeus begs to Jesus, Jesus heals him because he had strong faith in Him. Jesus wants all of us to have strong faith in Him. He longs for a relationship with each of us. According to the story, Bartimaeus gave up his belongings to follow Him. Jesus wants us to also give up our lives and choose to follow Him. We shouldn't care more about having friends, in fact, I don't even care if I make sacrifices for Jesus, like losing friends. He is holy!

God bless. :)
