D. Naturalism
The dramatic movement of naturalism is based upon the idea that the environment dictates human behavior. This directly comes from Darwin's theory of evolution. In his theory people and animals evolved based on the traits that helped them best survive their environment. A great example of this is the story "The Open Boat" where the characters are stranded on a liferaft in the ocean. Their environment symbolizes how humans are helpless in the face of Mother Nature.
