Respuesta :

energy is always transformed from one form to another

energy is not created nor destroyed

so when a car starts moving the chemical potential energy of the car is converted to kinetic energy

kinetic energy is the energy that moving objects possess

kinetic energy formula is as follows

Kinetic energy = 1/2 mv²

where m - mass

v - velocity

substituting these values

K.E = 1/2 x 1350 kg x (12 m/s)²

= 1/2 x 1350 x 144 = 97200 J

the kinetic energy of the car is 97.2 kJ

Hello!

A 1350 kg car travels at 12 m/s. What is it's kinetic energy ?

We have the following data:

m (mass) = 1350 kg

v (velocity) = 12 m/s

KE (kinetic Energy) = ? (in Joule)

Formula to calculate kinetic energy:

[tex]\boxed{KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *m*v^2}[/tex]

Solving:

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *m*v^2[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *1350*12^2[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *1350*144[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{194400}{2}[/tex]

[tex]\boxed{\boxed{KE = 97200\:Joule}}\:or\:\boxed{\boxed{KE = 97.2\:kJ}}\Longleftarrow(kinetic\:energy)\:\:\:\:\:\:\bf\blue{\checkmark}[/tex]
