Socrates was very famous Greek philosopher credited as one of the originators of Western logic, and similar to the primary good philosopher, of the Western moral custom of thought. A baffling figure, he made no compositions, and is known essentially through the records of traditional scholars composing after his lifetime, especially his students Plato and Xenophon. Different sources incorporate the contemporaneous Antisthenes, Aristippus, and Aeschines of Sphettos. Aristophanes, a writer, is the main source to have composed during his lifetime.
