A hardware store pays $3,500 for 42 lawnmowers. Then the store sells the lawnmowers for $99 each. How much profit does the store make from the lawnmower sales?

I think the equation is 99×42, and then you subtract that number from $3,500.
Please tell me if i am right, if i am wrong, please tell me how to do it.

Respuesta :

you should first have the equation 3500=42x and then solve x which is 83.3 repeating. then subtract 83.3 from 90 which gets the store a profit on 7.7 dollars per lawnmower

The total profit of the store by selling the lawnmower is $658.
