Historically
speaking, during 1600s, these routes were very helpful to India economically.
Through these sea routes, India had been able to connect with other places and
trade in with spices, silk and cotton to Western counties. These spices were
very in demand as it exported from on country to another in their food. Dye was
also in demand especially because this is used as a color for the soldier’s
uniforms in Britain. However, this route also became the reason why India was slowly
colonized by Britain.
