When a speaker would be repeating a points, or not only that but also a sentence as well, it would be most likely for him to make a (successive sentences or clauses). But, not always this would be known to be bad. If they're is a point that really need's to made clear more than once, yes this would be known as a successive sentence, but if this is a point that would have to get in the audience head, then, it would be great for this to happen.
If a speaker repeats a point, it is likely the audience would have the information gathered in their head more deeper.
