The first organic compounds may have been nucleotides and make up nucleotides. Nucleotides bond together to form RNA or DNA. RNA and DNA make up genetic codes. So all of these make up each other in a sort of chain or order.

RNA is an example of nucleic acids and is a polymer of ribonucleotides bonded together by phosphodiester bonds. A ribonucleotide of RNA is made of a ribose sugar, a nitrogenous base, and one phosphate moiety. Three successive nucleotides an mRNA make one genetic code which in turn code for specific amino acid. For example, the genetic code AUG code for amino acid "methionine".
