In "Young Goodman Brown," Hawthorne reveals his feelings about his Puritan ancestors when

       A. the dark man reveals that he helped Brown's forebears persecute others.   B. Faith expresses her anxieties about young Brown's departure.   C. Brown strives to resist his dark mission.   D. Brown discovers his catechism teacher is on speaking terms with the Devil.

Respuesta :

I would say the correct answer is A) the dark man reveals that he helped Brown's forebears persecute others. Because Hawthorne was fascinated by his region's Puritan past, possibly because one of his own ancestors was one of the judges who sentenced the Salem witches to death.

A. the dark man reveals that he helped Brown's forebears persecute others.

This is the only answers to deal with his forebears. B---is his current wife. C is himself, D is his current teacher.....Of course for argument, you could say we are talking Hawthorne ancestors and not Browns. But I got a 100 on the test so.......... the dark man reveals that he helped Brown's forebears persecute others.
