Consider the following system of equations 2x+3y=45 x+y=10 what is the x value of the solution for this system

Respuesta :

2x + 3y = 45
x + y = 10......y = 10 - x

2x + 3(10 - x) = 45
2x + 30 - 3x = 45
-x + 30 = 45
-x = 45 - 30
-x = 15
x = -15 <====

and y = 25
step 1- for 2x+3y=45 subtract 2x on each side
ex- 2x+3y=45
-2x. -2x
step 2- 3y=-2x+45 now divide each variable by 3 to get y by itself
step 3- y=-0.66x+15

do the same for. x+y=10
which would be. y=-x+10

now that you have both equations in y=mx+b form, you have to find x

step 4- put both equations together
step 5- -0.66+15=-x+10 add 0.66,both sides. +0.66. +0.66

step 6- 15=-0.34x+10 subtract 10 on each side -10. -10
step 7- 5=-0.34x divide -0.34 on each side. ÷-0.34. ÷-0.34

answer is x= -14.7
