Performing static stretches during a warm up instead of a cool down at the end of a workout can hurt your performance during physical activity. Performing these static stretches can also increase your chances of injuring yourself. When these static stretches are performed they give you less control over your muscles and make them less reactive, which will hurt you during your workout,
