Maslow's Theory of Motivation has many hierarchies. The basic one is based on Physiological Needs.
In this example, Mari is motivated by Physiological Needs. These needs consists of desire of basic necessities likes food, water, cloths. Mari last job was better than the current job, but she joined it because she was motivated to fulfill the basic needs of her family.
People try to fulfill their basic necessities and once these needs are fulfilled, then according to Maslow, the person moves towards the second level in the hierarchy. The second level is Safety Needs, the third one is Social needs, and then Self Esteem and Self Actualization come in the hierarchy.
