Please enclose that fraction, 3/4, inside parentheses to eliminate ambiguity.

Then y = (3/4)x - 6.  The slope of the given line is 3/4.  A line perpendicular to this given line has a slope which is the negative reciprocal of 3/4:  m = -4/3.
