Hope this helps.

According to Defoe the quality that is most valuable in a servant is:

Loyalty

What is loyalty?

In the broadest sense, loyalty is a devotion and faithfulness to a people, cause, philosophy, country, or group. Philosophers dispute on what qualifies as an object of loyalty;

some contend that loyalty is completely interpersonal and that the only acceptable objects of allegiance are other people. In law and politics, loyalty is defined as a person's fidelity to a nation, either the nation of their birth or the nation they have sworn to be their home.

The quality of loyalty is loyalty. Cheering for a sports team, whether it wins or loses, shows allegiance to that team. By casting their votes exclusively for members of a political party, voters show their allegiance to that party. When consumers strongly identify with a certain brand or product, such as a computer or vehicle, the idea behind brand loyalty is that they will continue to purchase new goods from that brand or manufacturer.

Who is Defoe?

Daniel Defoe became a businessman and was involved in a number of unsuccessful ventures while dealing with bankruptcy and hostile creditors.

He also published a lot of political pamphlets, which got him sent in jail for slander. Daniel Defoe began writing fiction in his later years, producing one of the most well-known and important works of literature in the form of Robinson Crusoe.

In 1683, Defoe released his first literary work—a political pamphlet—because he had always been interested in politics. Up until the early 1700s, while working as a journalist, he continued to compose political writings.

During this time, many of Defoe's writings emphasized support for King William III, also known as "William Henry of Orange." His most well-known writings were The True-Born Englishman, which exposed racism in England after attacks on William because he was a foreigner, and the Review, a periodical that was published from 1704 to 1713 under the reign of Queen Anne, King William II's successor. Defoe's political adversaries twice forced him into prison in 1713 for his work.
