Some of the hardships that many peasants that in the past had faced was unfair taxation. Many peasants were forced to pay taille for them to keep their lands that they are farming. Nobles and bourgeoisie have lower taxes compared to peasants. They also have to pay indirect for commodities such as salt, bread and many more.
