Zhou were a dynasty in China that ruled from the 1046 BC to the year 256 BC. Their dynasty, that is longest running in the Chinese history, came after the Zhang dynasty and was succeeded by Qin dynasty.  In order to maintain the control over all of the territories including those they conquered they relied on two things. Those things were firstly the loyal family members and the second one was their loyal followers who were appointed in those new territories.
