What process is responsible for surface mountains, oceanic trenches, and other large-scale features on earth's surface?

Respuesta :

The process that is responsible for surface mountains, oceanic trenches, and other large-scale features on earth's surface is the continental drift. The term continental drift describes the process of moving of the tectonic plates. The plates are slowly moving—literally drifting around the surface of our planet. These  motions have created the surface mountains large-scale features across the Earth.
There are layers of the earth crusts that keeps drifting and sliding around one another. So when they are sliding collision happen between these Earth's crustal plates forming the landscapes like mountains, oceanic trenches and other body of lands. They are total of seven to eight plates on Earth along with other small plates too.
