To find the length of each object on the scale drawing we make a proportion using the given information

6 feet = 1 inch , 14 feet = x inches

$\frac{inches}{feet}$ = $\frac{inches}{feet}$

$\frac{1}{6}$ = $\frac{x}{14}$

Cross multiply it,

14 = 6x

divide by 6 on both sides

So x = 2.3 inches

b) a tower 40 meters tall; 0.8 centimeter = 1 meter.

Lets make a proportion using given information

1 meter =0.8 centimeter , 40 meters = x centimeter

$\frac{centimeter}{meter} = \frac{centimeter}{meter}$

$\frac{0.8}{1} = \frac{x}{40}$

40 * 0.8 = 1x

x= 32 centimeter
