The progressive movement or also called progerssivism was the period from 1890 till 1920. This period was characterized with economic and social problems caused by the rapid industrialization in America.
A progressive movement was sometimes misguided in its interaction with racial minorities because Progressive forms pushed white American middle class as the superior way of living. This lead to situation in which the racial minorities felt inferior and there was gap between them and the communication between the racial minorities was disturbed.
