Qualitative variable is a categorical variable that can be classified depending on some attributes and characteristics. Quantitative variables on the other hand are variables that provide numerical measures.
Driver's license can not be measured and expressed with numbers so it is a qualitative variable. Class is a qualitative variable. Drivers is a quantitative variable, there can be 10 drivers for example.
